| Africa Adventure Consultants Gives Back to African Community
DENVER, CO – Today, tourism across the globe is about so much more than showing up and taking photographs. Travelers seek to understand the cultures to which they travel on a deeper level than ever before. At the same time, tour operators are taking an active role in supporting sustainable communities in the countries in which they operate. This combined action of support and understanding is particularly important in developing countries. Kent Redding, President of Denver-based Africa Adventure Consultants, recently led group of sixteen to Tanzania where they generously donated more than $1,000 plus much-needed school supplies to a the Kakoi Primary School. What's more, Africa Adventure Consultants announced today they are taking their support of this community to the next level by building a nursery school there, and providing financial support for a teacher at this school.

Wild encounters
WE discovered Elephant Plains Game Lodge, in the 65,000ha Sabi Sand Wildtuin, adjacent to the Kruger National Park, six years ago and each visit reaffirms our enjoyment of this exclusive South African enclave. The MalaMala safari camp -- where glitterati from across the world pay extraordinary sums of money to stay and to view arguably the best game in Africa -- is 6km away. .
Selection to national teams raises querries
Its whats on everybodys lip in the rugby fraternity at the moment. Its not beer. Its the much talked-about Super Four series, regarded only second in popularity to the Safari Sevens. Its an event patronised by scores of ladies, some with skirts shorter than the shorts worn by the male brutes in the pitch, whose presence beg for acknowledgement from the crowd. This is an event where the best rugby players in Kenya are made to showcase their skills with the aim of being picked for the national team. But is it really the best 100 players showing off their skills? For an event formulated to tackle the problems faced by the technical bench with coming up with a national team, has it brought the level of rugby a notch higher? We are still not on our way to France for the World Cup after four years of the tournament! This surely must signify that something is not right.
Kenya: A Victim of Writing...
Imre Loefler scientist, environmentalist and naturalist, surgeon, public speaker and combative social commentator par excellence died earlier this month after a long battle with prostate cancer. True to form, his weekly column in a Nairobi daily appeared even after his physical presence had departed. As usual, only hours away from death, his mind was in top form - composed, rational and lucid. Reading the column, one had the eerie feeling that it had been sent from another world, Loefler unfailingly unable to miss an appointment. .
